2400 was the #1 magnum pistol powder for Elmer Keith for a reason. I will take it over H110 every time. It's much more versatile. It can be used in the same applications. It can be downloaded "safely." It's preference is a non-magnum primer. I use it for 44 mag, 460 mag, 454 Cassel, 357 mag, 45 Colt, 5.7 x 28mm, and a few others.

I was disappointed that I could not pick this up out at the warehouse. Had to make a sudden trip up by Winfield and order would not be ready for 3 days. Lucked out and caught a free hazmat shipping day. I really miss the old days when you could just drive over to the warehouse place your order and leave with it. And being able to visit with Brian while they were filling order was an added bonus.

Alliant 2400 works well for reduced cast bullet rifle loads. It is extremely uniform in ignition producing the needed accuracy for competition.

The process of ordering is fairly easy. The price was a little less than other online sources, but shipping seemed a little higher than others.

Ordered this and others for hard to find, loading for 5 magnums

I've been using 2400 in my standard magnum reloads for decades. The powder is excellent.

However Alliant chose to not deliver consistent supplies to the reloading community like their competitor and that cost us a lot of time and headaches. Having said that, over the last few years I've developed some excellent reloads with non-Alliant powder.

I'll keep this 2400 for special projects, but it's no longer my #1 powder for magnum purposes.
