Factory Seconds .308 Diameter 176 Grain Metal Tip 100 Count Bullets

At first glance the bullets appear to be OK, as there were no problems with the bullet tips and the boat tails. The weights of the few that I measured were fairly consistent. So I ordered more. When the next order arrived, I noticed that the overall length of the bullets varied by as much as 50 thousandths! The ogive and boat tail appear consistent, as the length difference seems to be in the bearing surface. I will have to sort these by length, as well as weight. Perhaps the center of gravity will be different as well. Might not be able to use these for their intended purpose of long range competition.

Just as I suspected, these were factory seconds of Hornady A-Tip .308 cal, 176grs match bullets at half the cost. I looked at them and shot a few thru my .308 RPR rifle . Can’t tell the difference. I’m putting them on target at 800 yards, same as factory firsts in fancy box. I went back and bought even more.

Love these rounds, I've weighed all of them and they're very consistent. Not a single defective projectile was found. I tumbled them, polished them they're perfect.
My only complaint is that Hornady doesn't have any load data on this round, not even in their newest load data book???

Best long range projectile I've found. About 1/2 price of factory best~better than ANY polymer tipped I've used.

Look to be good, can't really tell what the difference is. Using this to do load development before I use my none factory seconds rounds.
