Hodgdon H335 Smokeless Gun Powder

H335 is a spherical (ball) powder that started as a military powder for the 5.56 NATO. It's at its best in the .223 Remington and 5.56 with light and mid-weight bullets, and it's a longtime prairie dog favorite. Ball powder meters smoothly through a powder measure, which helps on high-volume days.

More than Hodgdon's Extreme powders. H335 is a ball powder and isn't part of the temperature-stable Extreme line, so velocity can shift more between hot and cold days. For most varmint and practice loads that won't matter much. If you need tighter consistency across seasons, look at Varget or H4895.

H335 is a faster ball powder that meters easily and does its best work in the .223 with light to mid-weight bullets. Varget is a slower, temperature-stable stick powder better suited to heavier .223 match bullets and the .308. They aren't interchangeable, so use the data for the one you load.

Hodgdon's free Reloading Data Center lists H335 for the .223 Remington, 5.56, .222 Remington, and other small rifle cartridges. Use the same primer type the data was tested with, which is usually a small rifle primer. Follow the published data for specific loads.

Yes, in 1 lb canisters and 8 lb jugs. A pound is 7,000 grains, and .223 charges are small, so even one canister goes a long way. The 8 lb jug suits prairie dog trips and high-volume AR loading. Up to 48 lbs of powder and primers ship under one hazmat fee.
