Bought 1000 of the HP BT’s. I am unsure of the manufacturer. They are smooth and have no cannelure. Loose bullets came in 2 bags of 500, as advertised. Packaging was nothing special at all. One bag contained fair looking bullets with mostly minor tarnish. Others were well tarnished. 20 seconds in a vinegar & salt bath had them all looking brand new.
After de-tarnishing them I visually inspected them (quick inspection while cleaning/drying/storing) and saw zero blemishes, dings, or scratches. I mic’d (+/- 0.00005 accuracy on the micrometers) 30 random bullets and got:
–An average of 0.22385.
–10 bullets (30%) were exactly 0.22385.
–The largest diameter was 0.22405 (3 bullets, 10%).
–The smallest diameter was 0.22370 (3 bullets, 10%)
I weighed those 30 bullets, after cleaning, on a digital grain scale (+/- 0.02gr accuracy) and got:
–An average of 55.173gr.
–The largest majority, 5 bullets (17%), weighed in at 55.16gr.
–The lightest bullet weighed 54.88gr (1 bullet, and this was the only bullet that weighed in under 55gr).
–The heaviest weighed 55.33gr (1 bullet).
I haven’t loaded/shot any yet, but overall I am happy with the purchase.
