I ordered 2,000 of these before they went out of stock. They are excellent projectiles and for the most part are relatively consistent in weight and length. The reason why they are factory seconds is because when calibrated (or not calibrated), the swaging machine must have been causing irregularities in the meplats, so OAL is going to vary a little. Some have a meplat that’s *significantly* more open than the others, and some, though few, have a meplat that is smaller than average, so expect this and the differences in AOL that will be associated with it. They are easy to see and separate, so honestly it’s not a huge deal, especially if you’re measuring OAL from the ogive. I’ve found that an average of 2.460″ AOL is enough to give all finished cartridges room to fit into magazines if you don’t plan on seperating projectiles.

still great, very hapy i purchased these for sure. the last review had a typo though. Definitely don’t load to 2.460″ haha i meant 2.2460″

I’ve been using these for practice bullets for a couple years. If you measure base to ogive, you will see a variance of up to .018″. The weights are all within 1/10th of a grain. To load them without separating them, this is the method I use: First, find the bullet with longest oal, and use it as your standard to set your seating die. Load the longest sample bullet to 2.260″ (if you want mag length). Then, load them. It’s basically set it and forget. I’ve shot these bullets out to 600 yards with very good accuracy. They work great for off hand and rapid sitting practice. Got a couple thousand I’m saving back in case the political climate goes south.

This projectile is the best option for my AR-15, 20″ 1:7tw barrel it’s the most accurate bullet for my rifle and using Alliant AR-COMP powder at the max load out and it is very consistent. When I zeroed my rifle with this hand load setup it’s absolute, I’m trying to get this projectile in the TMK, but is a hard find, but I’ll eventually get it.

These shoot very well but they’re not just “seconds” or “overruns”. These are blems and a small percentage do have obvious physical deformities. The not obvious is the inconsistent ogive compared to the branded boxes. I don’t use these for absolute accuracy but for my typically used AR’s11.5”when I want to go 500-600y.

I usually shoot the Sierra 77g MKs and I feel these are just as good. Uniform weight and the meplats are as consistent as the Sierras. Easily holds a bit less than .5 MOA out to 700 yards. A bit more at 1000 yards.
    Highly recommended.

Love these rounds, I’ve weighed all of them and they’re very consistent. Not a single defective projectile was found. I tumbled them, polished them they’re perfect.

They do the job as well as the prettier ones. If you want sparkling brilliance in your hand loads, tumble them in corn cob with a dash of Nu Finish car wax.

Good deal on a great bullet. Measurements and weight run consistent through lot of 500.
